How to Set up GA4 E-commerce with Google Tag Manager (GTM)

Google Analytics 4 is replacing Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023 all standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing data. (360 Universal Analytics properties with a current order will receive a one-time processing extension ending on July 1, 2024.) https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/11583528?sjid=12175903769516416232-EU

To aid this transition, we've prepared a set of preconfigured tags and triggers for GA4 that can be easily imported.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Download the file named 'GA4-ecommerce-events-for-GTM.json'.

2. Import this file into your Tag Manager. Navigate to 'Admin' → 'Import container'.

3. Select the downloaded file and choose your workspace. Doing so will add 2 tags and 19 triggers.

4. Next, go to 'Workspace' → 'Tags' and select 'Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration'.

5. Input the Measurement ID (e.g., G-A2ABC2ABCD) for your GA4 property. Please ensure you replace the 'G-ABC123' placeholder with your specific ID.

6. Finally, submit and publish the changes.
